Glass Bottle Packaging — Your Key Questions, Answered

Complete FAQ for Glass Bottle Sourcing

From inquiry and customization to sampling, production and after-sales — frequently asked questions answered in one place.

Please provide the intended contents, bottle capacity, required quantity, destination country, preferred closure and decoration requirements. You can also send a reference image, technical drawing, product link or physical sample, plus any cap, cork, label or filling-line specifications you already have.
Yes. Send us a clear photograph, drawing, website image or physical sample. We will compare it with our existing bottle range and recommend the closest available models. A photograph alone may not show the exact capacity, dimensions, weight or neck finish, so we may request additional measurements before confirming compatibility.
Kindly send us an inquiry or call us directly. Tell us the nominal capacity, send us pictures and the order quantity, and we will check the wholesale glass bottle stock for you.
No. An existing mold means that the bottle can be produced without developing a new mold. It does not necessarily mean that finished bottles are currently available. Stock changes regularly, so before confirming an in-stock order we check the available quantity, bottle condition and current packaging arrangement.
We can send you a technical drawing of the bottle size, along with an estimated loading quantity, weight, and the size of the pallet or carton.
The MOQ depends on the bottle type, size, weight and other requirements. For in-stock bottles, the MOQ is generally no lower than 3,000 pieces; for custom products, it is generally no lower than 6,000 pieces.
Mixed loading may be possible, but each bottle model must first meet its own production MOQ or available stock quantity. Quantities from different models cannot automatically be combined to meet the MOQ of one production run. Feasibility also depends on packaging, production schedules, container space and destination.
Yes. We offer price concessions based on order quantity — the larger the quantity, the lower the unit price.
Yes. We can develop a custom glass bottle from a sketch, technical drawing, reference image, physical sample or initial idea. Before mold development, we review the shape, capacity, dimensions, weight, neck finish, closure fit, molded details and decoration areas.
Please provide the intended contents, target capacity, preferred dimensions, closure type, expected order quantity, and any embossed, debossed or decoration requirements. For special processing conditions, also provide the filling temperature, internal pressure, pasteurization method, cooling process and storage conditions.
Yes. If the existing bottle already has the required shape, capacity and neck finish, it can normally be customized without developing a new bottle mold, except when the mold has reached its service limit — depending on the requirements, the service life of a mold is 500,000 to 1,000,000 cycles.
A typical custom glass bottle mold project starts at around USD 1,200. The final price depends on bottle size, mold configuration, structural complexity, neck finish and molded details. If the customer requests design changes, the mold modification fee is calculated separately.
After the final technical drawing is approved and the agreed tooling payment is received, mold machining normally takes 7 to 15 business days. Sample glass bottles are then produced within 7 to 15 business days after the mold is completed.
Yes. For standard-capacity or large-capacity bottle types, the threshold is 100,000 pieces; for small-capacity bottle types, it is 200,000 pieces. Once the cumulative order quantity reaches the agreed level, the mold fee can be credited against later orders as agreed.
When the mold is not in use, we move it to our dedicated mold storage room, where it is properly maintained and labeled. Generally, until the mold fee offset threshold is reached, the mold remains the customer's property. If the customer wishes to take the mold back, the corresponding maintenance fees and shipping costs must be paid.
Yes. Available options include corks, wood-top stoppers, synthetic stoppers, aluminum-top stoppers, glass stoppers, screw caps, tamper-evident caps, crown caps and swing-top closures. The bottle neck finish, closure dimensions, liner, gasket and sealing method must be checked together.
Suitability cannot be confirmed from appearance or capacity alone. Please provide the actual filling temperature, pressure, capping method, holding time, cooling method and pasteurization conditions. The complete bottle and closure system should be validated under the customer's actual production conditions before commercial use.
We offer screen printing, decal printing, spray coating, acid etching or frosting, hot stamping, metallization, laser engraving, labeling and shrink sleeves. Embossed and debossed logos are formed through the bottle mold and therefore require a mold review.
Vector files such as AI, editable PDF or EPS are preferred. Please also provide the required artwork size, position and color information. If an exact brand color is important, provide the Pantone number or an approved physical color reference.
Yes. Standard undecorated samples may be available, depending on the selected bottle model and current stock. The customer normally pays the international courier cost.
You can review detailed videos or photos, or have physical samples shipped to you — we recommend the sample shipment so you can inspect the actual product. Once you are satisfied and confirm by email or in writing, mass production will begin.
You may cancel or modify the order before production begins. If the order is modified, it will need to be re-scheduled. Once production has started, the order cannot be cancelled.
We accept TT, PayPal, Western Union and other methods. Typically, a 50% deposit is paid in advance, with the remaining 50% against photos of the mass-produced, well-packed goods. The payment method, deposit, balance and schedule are stated in the formal quotation and pro forma invoice.
Our main currency is USD. EUR, Australian dollars, GBP and other currencies are also available.
The regular lead time is generally 30 to 45 days. The final delivery time depends on various factors such as bottle design, mold manufacturing, samples and surface finishing processes.
Bottles are checked against the approved drawing, physical sample and written order requirements. Inspection may cover appearance, dimensions, capacity, weight, neck finish, closure fit, decoration, quantity and packaging.
All bottles undergo strict quality control before delivery. If there is a quality problem, we take responsibility and provide a satisfactory solution.
Standard export cartons and pallets are used, including fumigation-free wooden pallets and plastic pallets. Options include high-quality 3-ply or 5-ply corrugated carton packing, or palletized layered packing, with corrugated dividers to separate every bottle, and edge protectors reinforcing the four corners. The final packing is arranged according to the actual situation. We can also customize the packing if you have special requirements.
Yes. Samples and small urgent shipments can be sent by international express or air freight. Bulk orders are normally shipped by sea, with both full-container and less-than-container options. Ocean freight fluctuates, so the cost depends on the freight rates when booking the container. Customers may pay the shipping company directly or through us.
We work with professional freight forwarders to arrange delivery to your seaport or provide door-to-door service. EMC, COSCO, ONE and other carriers are available depending on the shipping line and availability.
Yes. Changing the shipping service is negotiable after you place an order.
For samples, we provide a tracking number within 48 hours. For wholesale mass production, it takes about 30 days. For custom bottles, it takes about 45 days.
Standard commercial shipment documents can be prepared according to the order and agreed shipping arrangement. Product reports, material declarations and market-specific certificates depend on the selected bottle and destination market.
Keep the original packaging, pallet labels, carton markings and batch information. Record the affected bottles and packaging with clear photographs or videos. Provide the order number, affected quantity and a description of the problem. Do not discard the packaging or affected bottles before the case has been reviewed. Note: a breakage rate of about 3% during shipping is generally considered normal, and we can compensate the bottles.
